Hi, I'm Oran.

Your wedding photographer, and professional wedding-day observer.

I've loved photography for as long as I can remember. I was always that melter taking photos on nights out with the old digital camera, and even further back, filling disposable cameras as a kid and torturing my mum to get them printed afterwards (really showing my age here!) so I've been documenting people and moments forever.

I studied Media Production at the University of Ulster in Coleraine, specialising in photography, and graduated in 2010. Since then I've worked across all sorts of photography, from local brands and fitness shoots to events, sport and nightclub photography around Belfast.

I even spent some time living in Florida, where I played football and coached kids there “soccer” as they call it! All while continuing to photograph sports, landscapes and wildlife out there.

Wedding photography wasn't originally in the plan. A friend asked me to photograph their wedding after seeing some of my other work, and having being let down last minute. I was hooked from that first one. Being trusted to be such a big part of someone's day, then seeing their reaction when they received their photographs, made me realise this was where I wanted to be.

I've been photographing weddings across Northern Ireland since 2017, and I've even made it back to Florida to photograph one there too along the way.

Be a guest.

That's the simplest way I can describe how I approach a wedding.

I'm there to document what actually happens — the people, the reactions, the laughter, the quiet moments and all the little things you might not notice until you see the photographs afterwards.

I don't want your wedding day to feel like a high pressure photoshoot.

You'll have the photographs you need, and we'll make some time for beautiful portraits of you and your most important people, but most of the day I'll be there quietly observing and letting things happen. I'll give you direction when you need it, but I'm not interested in putting you into a series of poses that don't feel like you.

Your wedding is about spending time with the people you love and enjoying the experience of the day!

That's where my priority lies.

And because I'm probably going to be around you for a good chunk of the day, I want you to actually enjoy having me there too. I'll keep things relaxed, I'll help when I can, and we will have plenty of craic along the way.

At the end of the day, I want you to look through your photographs and not just remember what everything looked like.

I want you to remember how it felt.

A little bit about me outside of photography

I'm a dad to a young daughter (the boss) as well as a full time dog dad! Generally happiest when I'm spending time with my family, watching football, taking the dog for a walk or finding an excuse to get the camera out.

If you've made it this far, you've probably seen some of my work, been recommended by someone I've photographed, or maybe you've even been at one of the weddings I've shot.

Either way, I'm glad you're here.

If you think we might be a good fit, get in touch and tell me a little about what you've got planned.

We can grab a coffee, jump on a Zoom call or just have a chat about your day and what you're looking for.
